Cooperation

At the atelier we are open to cooperative work with artists and organizations interested in sharing the knowledge and experience. Our idea of starting this place has been cooperation from the very beginning. Not only because of our own need and motivation for knowledge, but also to share and educate.

As our place is in an postwar area, there is a great need for the development and economical rebuilding. That is why we have decided to create the international ceramic centre. That way people from around the world are going to come here and are going to take active part in the creation of our centre. As the area is a very close to a famous Plitvice lakes national park (about 30 km) and the area itself is beautiful we believe in this kind of development.

Our work can be devided in to 2 main parts, one is the artistic work on the international level and the other is active work in the local comunity.

We try to educate and motivate people from the area to forget the past war and to turn to a present moment and sustainable future. Many plans are being discussed and made on many of our meetings with our friends and associates.
One of this ideas is the projetc 'Kreativci u Lici' that we have started this year (2010). Project involves work with the school children of the areas in irder to provide more diverse way of living and thinking. Project main goal is helping children develop their creativity by working with clay. Thanks to the Dutch embassy in Croatia and their project Matra-Kap we are able to offer this program to children free of charge and dus making it available to everybody, regardles of their material possibilities.

Second part of this same project is education of unemployed. Teaching them new skills and providing the necessery logistical support. Here to is very important to offer this service free of charge or for an very affordable price so that peolple can concentrate on their thrue work. After learnig to make ceramics, they can produce ceramic wares or souvenirs and distribute them to nearby Plitvice lakes. By doing this they will be able to earn some extra income and feel more usefull and part odf the comunity.

As we are self an Non Government Organisation we try to extend our work beyond the boundaries of national, racial, economical or any other non tolerant philosophy.
Part of our activities includes a workshops in ecological building, traditional pottery and other traditional art and hand crafts, different creative workshops for the children, ecological harvesting atc.

We hope to attract more organisations and individuals to come and offer their knowledge and ideas to other people thru our place, and to develop a big network and connect with other initiatives in the world with the same objectives as our own.
